Happy New Year! Back in December, we were fortunate enough to get to attend the launch party in NYC for Turk Pipkin’s Book of the Every Other Month Club. Described by him as “possibly my most ambitious project ever,” this project entails six new books all written by him and published within the same year.
According to his website:
Subscribers receive the first book, Moleskin Mystery, before Christmas (along with a bonus copy of The Tao of Willie, then five more titles follow every two months during 2018. A perfect gift for every book lover!
Every subscription to Turk’s Book Club helps fund new libraries at three Nobelity Project partner schools in rural Kenya. One for one, book for book – we’ll be bringing the love of books and improved literacy to more than 1,500 students at Mweiga, Mwangaza and Wiyoni Primary schools. Sounds like a great deal to me! Besides seeing Mr. Pipkin at the book launch, I also interviewed him at a screening of his documentary “Building Hope” at Tribeca Cinemas back in 2012. Turk Pipkin, an actor (The Leftovers, The Sopranos), filmmaker, photographer, and philanthropist, is a truly kind, generous, down to earth person. We wish him the best with his Book of the Every Other Month Club and with his non-profit, The Nobelity Project. I also can’t wait to read the first book of the club, The Moleskin Mystery!
